HISTORY OF THE MANN HOUSE.

This remarkable haven all grew out of the vision of our founder Charles H. Mann III. After coping with his own father’s 17-year struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease, Mr. Mann was determined to bring the highest standards in healthcare, dementia, advanced Memory Care and assisted living in the Atlanta area. Among the first in the nation to see the value of going beyond strictly medical attention to create an unrivaled level of care and concern in a gracious, residential setting for those with the illness, The Mann House has long been out in front of the industry. Over the years, we’ve learned from our residents and their families how to excel even further, instilling a sense of serenity and calm.

BREAKING NEW GROUND IN ALZHEIMER’S CARE.

Dignitaries at the initial launch of The Mann House in Atlanta, 1988, include Charles Mann III, Marjorie Mann, Board Members and Distinguished Healthcare Guests. Also in attendance was Georgia’s Lieutenant Governor Pierre Howard who gave a speech to honor the grand opening ceremonies.

OUR INSPIRED BEGINNINGS.

For thirty years, The Mann House has been renowned for its higher level of Alzheimer’s care. Here at The Mann House/Atlanta, in the early days of its pioneering concepts, Founder Charles Mann III presents the annual “Charles H. Mann MD Memorial Caregiving Award,” in honor of his father who suffered with Alzheimer’s for 17 years, to Dr. Lewis Sullivan, Surgeon General of the United States.

THE FOUNDERS WITH THE RESIDENT MASCOT.

Our founder Charles Mann III and  his wife Louise own and operate The Mann House with the highest levels of integrity and care. Over the years, their gentle white boxer “Winnie” has become a cherished member of the family, beloved by staff, residents and families alike.

A TRUSTED FAMILY LEGACY OF ALZHEIMER’S CARE SINCE 1988.

When we first opened our doors in 1988, our concept was profound. This would not be just a place for exceptional Alzheimer’s and advanced Memory Care, but a haven of loving concern and medical expertise unlike anything on the market. And now the Mann family operates homes in both the Buckhead/Sandy Springs section of Atlanta and soon, in Cumming, Georgia. Everything that happens here is designed to offer comfort for our residents and their families. At The Mann House, we have an extraordinary environment geared to enhance quality of life for everyone that comes into contact with our team.

THE COMPASSION OF A CARING, DEDICATED STAFF.

Our devoted healthcare team “staff to patient” ratio is an unrivaled 1 to 4. As a result, each staff member has fewer residents to care for (only 3 to 5) than other facilities in the region. This enables us to provide a much higher level of care, giving extra attention and time to each resident. (Perhaps the quality of these interactions explains why we have less than 5% annual staff turnover in an industry where the norm is closer to 50-80%!)

OUR HALLMARK IS LUXURIOUS, DIGNIFIED SURROUNDINGS.

With only 50 private suites in a traditional environment, our intimate size and elegant decor create an exceptional residential lifestyle that guarantees the dignity of individual attention and close, meaningful relationships. Our staff of loving caregivers provides the highest level of service, concern and warmth to each resident.

A SAFE, COMFORTABLE HAVEN.

Our all inclusive, bundled rates include complete hospitality, health and individual care services. There are no “surprise charges” at the end of the month or questions about the amount of care extended. Our staff provides whatever level of care is needed, hour by hour, to meet each resident’s (and family’s) wishes and requirements.

PIONEERS OF “SILVER TRAY SERVICE”.

Our hospitality services include our famous, 24/7 “Silver Tray Service” delivering outstanding meals prepared by first-class, private-chefs who gladly honor all special requests and diets. As you might expect, our menu is legendary. After all, we pioneered the whole concept of excellent assisted living dining in elegant surroundings.

WONDERFUL MEALS.

Our top private chefs do more than simply prepare meals. We create an experience like you might find in a four star restaurant, with fine cutlery and distinctive table settings. In this inviting space, residents can interact, or not, with fellow residents in exquisitely appointed dining rooms. While dietary restrictions are of course factored in, we assure the menu will be enticing with food that is both delicious and nutritious.

EXQUISITE ATTENTION TO DETAIL.

We leave nothing to chance. From rounded edges on the furniture to soft wall to wall carpeting throughout the building, to top security measures, we are highly experienced caretakers with flexible schedules for care, activities and medical attention. We maintain a 24-hour staff on the premises. Yet we are also flexible and sensitive to daily fluctuations in a resident’s condition and we adjust accordingly. We have thought of everything and cater to every need. No wish is too small.

TESTIMONIALS.

“Nearing 90 years of age my father and mother reached a point in their lives where it was no longer possible for them to function safely in their own homes. At that point we began the process of finding a comfortable assisted living environment for them. We reviewed a number of facilities and a family friend recommended that we take a look at The Mann House. That ended our search – we had found the right place and have been extremely pleased with our decision. The past three years have gone quite smoothly for them and for our family. We have found The Mann House staff to be caring, efficient and professional in caring for them. The food service is excellent as well as nutritious.” – William G. Whitetaker

“On behalf of our whole family, we thank you and your staff for the years of devoted service and professional care you gave my mother. I only wish that she could have expressed her appreciation directly to you and Anita, your nurses, assistants, chefs and caregivers for your loving care. You have our best wishes and our thanks.” – Senator Sam Nunn

“I would like to thank you, and all the members of your staff for the excellent care you gave my father. The degree of care and attention shown to him went far beyond our expectations. You all can be justifiably proud of the service you provide to the elderly. Again, thank you for your help during a most difficult time.” – G. Paris Sykes

“I want to thank you for my mother’s stay at The Mann House. When we brought her from Florida, I estimated that mom had less than a year to live. During her thirty-month stay at The Mann House, we were able to bring her drugs under control and greatly increase her quality of life. None of this could have been accomplished without the help and guidance of your staff. When we knew that the final days were near, your staff again rose to the situation and gave mother the best care possible. Our family considered your house part of us and your hospitality was greatly appreciated.” – Bruce Olderman

“My Mother was a resident of The Mann House for just over two years before her death. I want to express my deep appreciation for all that you and your staff did to make her stay there as comfortable as possible during that time. Your staff was so kind and compassionate, always willing to go that extra mile, and treat my Mother with love and attention which she required so often. Your staff’s efficiency was obvious. The love and compassion they gave Mother will never be forgotten. Please express our deep, heartfelt appreciation to all members of your staff.” – Wheeler Davidson Jr.

“We looked at several other facilities before coming to The Mann House, and found that your personalized care was just what we wanted him to have. It was always a pleasant place for us and his friends to visit him, and we always felt welcome.” -CW
